Children's Privacy & Parental Consent
Last updated: 20 August 2026
This page explains how the TalentLync CDC Platform (the "Platform") — used by child development, autism, speech therapy, and special education centers to manage children's therapy, attendance, and billing records — collects and uses children's personal and health-related information, and how a parent or legal guardian provides and manages consent for this.
This page applies specifically to data entered into the Platform by a therapy center using TalentLync's software. It is separate from, and in addition to, our general Privacy Policy and Security & Data Protection page, which describe our marketing website and general practices.
1. Who This Page Is For
This page is written for parents and legal guardians of children enrolled at a therapy center that uses the TalentLync CDC Platform, and for the centers themselves in explaining their own data practices to families.
2. What Children's Information Is Collected
Depending on how a center uses the Platform, the following may be collected about a child:
- Basic profile information — full name, date of birth, gender, enrollment date.
- Parent/guardian contact details — name, relationship, phone number, email address.
- Therapy and clinical records — assessments, SOAP notes, therapy goals and progress, diagnosis-related information entered by therapists.
- Attendance records — which sessions or classes a child attended.
- Billing information — fees, invoices, and payment history linked to the child's enrollment.
- Documents uploaded by the center relating to the child (e.g. assessment reports).
The Platform does not require or request a child's own login, and children do not directly use the Platform themselves. All information is entered by center staff (administrators, therapists) on the child's behalf.
3. Why This Information Is Collected
Information is collected and used so that a center can:
- Deliver and document therapy sessions and track progress over time.
- Manage attendance and scheduling.
- Generate accurate bills and maintain financial records.
- Communicate with parents/guardians about their child's care.
- Maintain records required for clinical, operational, or legal purposes.
4. Parental / Guardian Consent
A center should obtain clear, informed consent from a child's parent or legal guardian before entering that child's information into the Platform, covering, separately:
- Collection and storage of the child's basic profile information.
- Collection and storage of the child's therapy, assessment, and health-related information.
- Any optional communications (e.g. SMS/WhatsApp appointment reminders), which a parent/guardian may decline without affecting the core service.
Consent should be recorded with the date it was given and the identity of the parent or guardian who gave it, and should be capable of being withdrawn at any time (see Section 7).
5. Who Can Access a Child's Information
Access is limited to authorized staff at the center where the child is enrolled, based on their role (e.g. a therapist can see the children assigned to them; an administrator can see records for their branch). TalentLync does not use children's data for its own marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to providing the Platform to the center.
6. How Long Information Is Kept
Each center is responsible for setting its own retention period for a child's records after that child leaves or completes their program, in line with applicable clinical record-keeping and legal requirements. Parents/guardians may ask their center directly how long their child's records will be kept.
7. Parental / Guardian Rights
A parent or legal guardian may, by contacting the center directly:
- Ask what information is held about their child.
- Ask for corrections to inaccurate information.
- Withdraw previously given consent.
- Request deletion of their child's information, subject to any legal or clinical record-keeping requirements that may require certain records to be kept for a period even after a withdrawal request.
Withdrawing consent or requesting deletion may affect a center's ability to continue providing services to that child.
8. Where Information Is Stored
The Platform's servers are located outside India (in Singapore). Information may therefore be processed and stored outside the country in which the center and family are located, using providers that maintain reasonable technical and organizational security measures.
9. Grievance Officer
Questions or complaints about how a child's information is handled on the Platform can be directed to the center that enrolled the child in the first instance, or to TalentLync's designated contact below.
